Back again with another idea from my class. I’ve used an online photo archive (photobucket.com) for years. I didn’t think of it as anything but a storage place so if my hard drive crashed, I wouldn’t lose some cherished photos. Now with a site such as flickr.com, there are new possibilities of using photos that have been tagged. If I decide to do a unit on Cooperstown during my baseball unit, I can grab some images that some people have taken and tagged and bring Cooperstown right into my classroom from the perspective of real people.

This can allow my students to take a virtual field trip to anywhere in the world through the eyes of tourists.
